A little history
The house was already known in the 15th century due to its corner position. Owned by LL.EE ("Their Excellencies of Berne") in 1584, it served as the first pastor's parish house, together with the former house of the Saint-Jean chapel, which was adjacent to the west.
In 1671, it was exchanged by the squire Gaccon for the former "Logis de la Couronne", which was installed in its place. In 1710-1713, the building was rebuilt by the innkeeper Daniel Sugnin, undoubtedly according to the plans of the Bernese architect Abraham Dünz II (the latter was then collaborating with the town on the reconstruction of the church, located opposite). In the early 1990s, the Hotel Restaurant de la Couronne was completely renovated and brought up to date in 2009.
